City of Derry Golf Club 75th Anniversary Souvenir

Founded in 1912, City of Derry Golf Club has a rich history spanning over 110 years. It is a traditional members’ golf club located on the banks of the River Foyle, close to the Historic Walled City of Derry. The original 9-hole layout was designed by Willie Park Junior in 1912. His efforts were rewarded with a fee of £10.

The Prehen Course offers a challenging test of parkland golf for golfers of all standards. Accurate shots to high-quality greens are essential to score well. Notably, the short 8th signature hole, known as “The Crow’s Nest,” requires precision to a well-protected green.

The early professionals at the City of Derry G.C. included Billy Robertson, Ted (“Edward Charles) Pope and Fred Daly.

The course has magnificent views of the River Foyle and the Hills of Donegal, visible from various vantage points .
