European Amateur Golf Team Championship

This was the fourth playing of, what was at the time a biennial event, and the first time that Ireland both entered and won the event. Ireland would go on to win it five more times (1967, 1983, 1987, 2007 and 2008). It was to become an annual event from 2007.
